🌿 Higashiyama & Philosopher's Path
1. Honen-in
Famous for moss-covered sand mounds re-raked into seasonal designs. The thatched gate framed by maples is one of Kyoto's most serene sights.
2. Anraku-ji
A tiny Zen temple with a beautiful moss garden and rare Chinese-style pagoda. Opens only in spring/autumn peak weeks.
3. Shinnyodo
A free-entry temple beloved by locals with a peaceful main hall and quiet gardens. Perfect rest stop.
4. Konkaiko Myo-ji (Kurodani)
